SERIES HISTORY VERSUS THE CITADEL
This marks the 8^th meeting all-time and second straight season the Eagles and Bulldogs square off. Last season the teams battled to a 1-1 draw, which was the first matchup since 2015. Winthrop leads the all-time series 3-2-2. After dropping two of the first three meetings in the series, the Eagles are 2-0-2 over the last four meetings.

• Eagles begin their 22^nd season overall and begin the season on the road for the second time in the last three seasons
• The last time the Eagles opened the season the road was 2022 as they earned a 2-0 win at Alabama State
• All-time the Eagles are 6-9-6 in season openers and hold a record of 2-2-1 when opening on the road
• Eagles return 21 players from last year's roster and welcome back seven starters
• Among the returnees are three of the team's top four scorers from a year ago
• Sophomore Sophia Balliet led the Eagles in goals (5) and points (11)
• Monssi Avila-Gutierrez was third on the team in scoring (4g, 1a) in just seven games (six starts) followed by Abbie McCrea with eight points (4g)
• The Eagles have eight newcomers, seven of them freshmen and the other is current lacrosse player Tori Iannotti who joined the team in the spring and will compete in both sports
• This will be the 377^th game in Winthrop women's soccer program history
• The Eagles are 150-185-24 all-time and hold a 63-104-12 mark on the road
• Spencer Smith is in his 15^th season as head coach and coached in his 200^th game for the Eagles on Sept. 25, 2021 vs. USC Upstate
• Smith is currently fifth all-time in Big South history for victories (two wins behind 4th) and three wins shy of 100 at the helm of the Eagles
• It is Smith's 36^th season overall as he posted a career record of 268-304-53
• He is 97-114-25 with Winthrop soccer and posted a 171-90-28 mark coaching collegiate men's soccer
• Smith earned 137 of those wins at Radford, where he was two-time Big South Coach of the Year and led the Highlanders to two NCAA College Cup appearances
• The 136 wins at Radford rank 5^th all-time in Big South history
