A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
- The 2024 championship is being played in a new location after being held at The Patriot at Grand Harbor every season since 2008
- Winthrop is seeded 4th and will tee off beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 18 for the opening round and will be paired with 3rd-seeded Longwood
- Back in November the Eagles were 1-of-4 league schools to compete in the Big South Preview
- Eagles tied Gardner-Webb for first place at 3-over in the 36 hole event
- Nick Mayfield finished at 4-under and tied for second while Mason Tucker was 4th at 2-under
- Tucker leads the team with a 72.21 scoring average, which ranks 6th in the Big South
- Mayfield is second with a scoring average of 73.17, ranked 11th in the Big South
- Ian Faulconer is averaging a career-low 74.57 and is tied for 19th in the conference
- Ashton Eubanks has recently played his way into the lineup and in 12 rounds he has a scoring average of 73.25
- Austin Mosher is coming off a T33 finish at Cutter Creek in which he posted a 54-hole total of 219, his lowest since his freshman season
- At the 2023 championship, Faulconer and Mayfield finished T7
- Since the format changed to Match Play for the Top 4 teams in 2019, the Eagles have advanced to Match Play in three of the four championships (2019/2022/2023)
