Daren Hinds was named the Big South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week while
Connor Magill was named the Big South Men's Cross Country Freshman Runner of the Week honoree for meets ran the weekend of Oct. 10-13, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Hinds cruised to a 45-second victory over the 8k course with a time of 24:57 at the Sand Shark Invitational in Hardeeville, S.C. last Saturday, leading the men's squad to a runner-up finish in the 14-team field.
This was Hinds' second first place finish in his career. He won the 8k with a time of 25:33.6 at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational back on Sep. 30, 2023.
Magill finished 25th in the 8k field of the Sand Shark Cross Country Invitational. He was the sixth Eagle to finish on the day, and the team's fastest underclassman with a time of 27:14.
