Five Eagles Score As Eagles Win Third Straight

Game Recap
  • Eagles offense came out applying pressure immediately as Chela Parris pinged a free kick off the crossbar just 1:05 into the match
  • A minute and a half later, Parris curled a free kick over the wall and into the left corner for a 1-0 lead for the Eagles
  • In the 24th minute, Adelle Pruitt collected a loose ball, took a couple of dribbles and then drilled a shot that bent toward the top left corner for a 2-0 advantage
  • Eagles grabbed a 3-0 lead in the 34th minute when Bryn Radvanski found Abbie McCrea in the box as she placed a shot past the keeper
  • Just shy of two minutes later McCrea netted her second as she was set up by Annabel Thomas
  • Radvanski added a goal in the 39th minute for a 5-0 lead, which the Eagles took to halftime
  • Winthrop stretched its lead to 7-0 after goals from Monssi Avila-Gutierrez and Radvanski's second of the match
  • S.C. State found the back of the net in the 81st minute when Brook Gloster laced a 40-yard shot over the head of Izzy Giarrizzi into the top right corner
  • The Bulldogs were awarded a penalty kick in the 83rd minute as Keleema Alexis converted with a shot to the top right corner

Notables
  • Winthrop had a 26-12 advantage in shots and 19-6 in shots on goal
  • Winthrop had an 11-0 advantage in corners
  • Giarrizzi finished with four saves while Sierra Curnell had 11 saves
  • This was the 10th straight victory over the Bulldogs
