CHARLESTON, S.C. – Winthrop had a 4-0 lead entering the bottom of the third but the Buccaneers scored seven runs over the final six innings to take the series from the Eagles by a final score of 7-4. The Eagles move to 15-18 overall and 4-8 in the Big South.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Winthrop stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single by Jonathan Strauss and an RBI fly out by Ramses Cordova.
• The Eagles extended the lead to 4-0 in the top of the third when Ty Hooks brought home Strauss on an RBI single.
• Charleston Southern scored four runs in three of the next four innings to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth.
• The Bucs took their first lead in the seventh on an RBI single and then put the game out of reach with two more runs in the next inning.
