ROCK HILL, S.C. – After falling 15-10 at Gardner-Webb in Winthrop's final road game of the year, the Eagles conclude their season on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. by hosting Longwood on Senior Day.

SCOUTING LONGWOOD
Longwood is currently 4-11 and 2-6 in the Big South. The Lancers have defeated George Mason and Kennesaw State and in conference have beat Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian. Their most recent outing was an 18-11 loss at Radford yesterday. Longwood is led by Kylar Ferguson, who is in her first year with the program. Longwood was picked to finish tied for eighth with Radford in the 2023 Big South Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll with 34 of the 100 possible points. Longwood finished the 2022 campaign with a 6-11 overall record and 3-6 in the Big South.
ALL-TIME AGAINST LONGWOOD
Winthrop leads the series with Longwood, 7-4 but are 4-1 in games played in Rock Hill. The Eagles lost the first two contests before notching their first victory in the series on Apr. 17, 2015 in Farmville, 15-4. That started a five-game Winthrop win streak against the Lancers. Following the five-game win streak, the two teams have split the last four meetings. Longwood won the most recent matchup, 14-13 in Farmville last season on Apr. 27. Winthrop is seeking their first win in the series since a 17-7 margin in Rock Hill on Apr. 21, 2021.
