Rock Hill, S.C. – Justin Moore's basket with 2.1 seconds left lifted Drexel to a 74-72 victory over Winthrop, Saturday evening in men's basketball non-conference action.

FIRST HALF
- Game was tied 2-2 in the early going when a Nick Johnson drive and score started a 8-0 run for a 10-2 lead with 15:04 left
- K.J. Doucet followed with a basket inside off a missed three from Johnson and then a couple of possessions later Sin'Cere McMahon dropped a three to lead 9-2
- It was a five point lead for the Eagles with 12:37 left after Kasen Harrison went 1-of-2 at the line to start a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 12 points
- Kelton Talford scored five straight points during the run that was capped off by a stick back from Alex Timmerman
- Winthrop led 27-17 with 4:54 left in the half, but the lead dwindled down to four points at the break as Drexel scored the final five points of the half
SECOND HALF
- Doucet opened the scoring in the second half with a for a 36-29 lead
- Drexel answered immediately with an 8-0 run to take its first lead of the game at 37-36 with 16:51 remaining
- The run was highlighted by threes from Luke House and Lamar Oden Jr.
- The lead was short lived as Kasen Harrison responded with a three as the shot clock was winding down to lead 39-37
- The game remained tight over the next seven minutes as the game was tied at 54-54 after a dunk finish from Amari Williams
- Harrison hit two free throws and scored the first five points of a 7-0 run to lead 61-54 with 6:34 to play
- Oden Jr. hit a three and scored five of six points to help Drexel pull within a point at 61-60 with 5:19 remaining
- The game was tied at 70-70 with 1:31 left on the clock when Harrison drove the lane and dropped a runner as he was fouled, but was unable to convert the three-point play
- Williams tied the game at 72-72 with 41 seconds left on a bucket inside
- Harrison was fouled with 19 seconds remaining, sending him to the line but was unable to get either free throw to fall
- Drexel played for the final shot and Justin Moore drove the lane and threw up a jumper that was off the mark
- Moore boarded his own miss and just on the edge of the lane quickly put up a jumper off glass for the lead with 2.1 seconds to play
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles finished the game 25-for-36 from the foul line and Drexel was 17-for-22
- Winthrop shot 47 percent from the floor while Drexel finished at 44 percent
- The two teams combined for just 16 turnovers as the Eagles finished with 10
- The battled on the glass went to Drexel, 33-30
NOTABLES
- Talford surpassed the 500 career rebound mark as he finished with three in the game

Eagles will be off until Nov. 17-19 when they host the Rock Hill Classic at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center. Winthrop opens play on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. against Holy Cross.
