Game Recap
- Gardner-Webb was awarded a penalty in the 9th minute but Megan Gettys missed the shot wide left to keep it a scoreless contest
- In the 47th minute Laura Bennett received a pass near the edge of the box, turned and fired a shot just over the bar
- Eagles struck first in the 58th minute on a set play as Annabel Thomas headed home an Emma Smith free kick service for the lead
- Runnin' Bulldogs equalized in the 62nd minute as Gettys settled the ball with her head, dribbled toward the end line and slipped a pass in front to Klara Overfelt
- Overfelt fired a shot on frame as Izzy Giarrizzi closed in and got a piece of the shot but it settled into the left corner of the goal
- Eagles came right back to take the lead in the 64th minute when Thomas crossed the ball in front and Smith struck a volley past the keeper for a 2-1 advantage

- Total shots for the game were even at 13-13 while the Eagles held a 5-4 edge in shots on goal
- Winthrop finished the match with eight corners and Gardner-Webb had three.
