Game Recap
- Wake Forest had the first good scoring opportunity of the match as Colin Thomas ran on to a through ball, dribbled a defender and had a one-on-one with goalkeeper Sam Jones
- Thomas tried to beat Jones near post but Jones put his hands out quickly to make the save in the 4th minute
- Demon Deacons took the lead in the 11th minute when Hosei Kijima slipped a pass into the box to Thomas who then found Mitchell open at the back post
- The Demon Deacons took advantage of a turnover by the Eagles as Mitchell collected the ball and dribbled toward goal
- As the last defender for the Eagles closed in, Mitchell hit a square ball to Kijima running on as he struck the ball first time to the lower left corner
- Another turnover by the Eagles led to a third goal for Wake Forest as the turnover came inside the box
- Cooper Flax intercepted the pass and played a square ball in front of goal for Mitchell who placed a shot into the open net from just outside the six
- In the 19th minute the Eagles applied presser on the Wake Forest defense in the back third and it nearly paid off as Sean Green won the ball, slipped a pass to Stefan Sildor who cracked a low shot but Cole McNally turned it away and the ball was cleared
- Demon Deacons made it 4-0 in the 37th minute as Leo Guarino fired a shot just inside the box that was deflected by a Winthrop defender up into the air in front of goal as Sidney Paris flicked the ball on with his head to Julian Kennedy for an open net goal a few yards off the line
- Aiden Williams spoiled the shutout in the 64th minute as he spun off a Wake Forest defender, dribbled into space and as he moves into the box curls a shot into the top left corner
- Wake Forest added a goal late in the game when it was awarded a penalty kick in the 84th minute and Mitchell converted

- Wake Forest finished with a 31-5 advantage in shots, 14-2 in shots on goal
- Freshman Aiden Williams scored his second goal of the season
