DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Winthrop baseball program fell to Davidson on the road Wednesday evening.
 
The Eagles are 13-29 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Winthrop had two men on base in the top of the first, but was unable to get either home
• The Wildcats used a two-run double to take the early lead in the bottom of the frame
• A solo home run from Fewell and a sacrifice bunt by Robby Taul tied the game in the top of the second inning
• In the bottom of the third, Davidson used an Eagle error to eventually score two runs
• Another two-run double in the fifth gave the home team a 6-2 advantage
• Three more runs in the sixth broke open the game
• A solo homer in the seventh and two RBI singles in the eighth ended the game as the ten-run rule was in effect

Winthrop welcomes Campbell to town for a three-game series this weekend. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday, May 6 at 5 p.m.
