Eagles Fall In Series Opener At Presbyterian College

Clinton, S.C. - Winthrop baseball dropped the opening game of its weekend series at Presbyterian, 10-5 Friday evening.

How it Happened
  • Presbyterian started the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the 1st inning
  • The Blue Hose put a run up in each of the 2nd and 3rd innings to make increase the lead to 6-0
  • In the top of the 4th inning, the Eagles put two runners on base, but were unable to drive in any runs
  • In the bottom of the 4th, Presbyterian pushed two more runs across for an 8-0 advantage
  • In the bottom of the 5th, the Blue Hose extended the lead by 2 more to make the score 10-0
  • In the top of the 7th, after a flurry of hits by the Eagles Khyree Miller drove in a run with a single to left field to get the Eagles on the board
  • With the bases loaded, Dillon Morton walked to make it 0-2
  • In the top of the 9th, after a double from, Joey Tepper drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center field to make the score 10-3
  • After a single to left field by Jack Spyke, another run scored
  • Joseph Szvetitz singled to plate the third run of the inning for the Eagles
  • The Eagles did load the bases again but were unable to keep the rally going
