CLINTON, S.C. – The Winthrop lacrosse program defeated Presbyterian for their second consecutive conference victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Blue Hose struck first with a goal less than five minutes into the game
• Claire Witmer tied the game with an unassisted goal less than a minute later
• Presbyterian scored twice more for a 3-1 lead
• Lauren Asher and Alyssa Angelo netted consecutive scores to tie the contest heading into the halftime break
• The home team came back with two goals for a 5-3 lead
• Angelo and Ellie Dutton tied the game before Abby Edmisten gave the Blue Hose a 6-5 lead
• Angelo took over and scored three straight times to give Winthrop the lead for good
• Presbyterian closed within one, but a Molly Dankowski score with less than a minute on the clock clinched the game

NOTABLES

• Angelo netted five goals to lead the way offensively while Asher had four ground balls
• Dankowski had four draw controls to lead the Eagles
