Baseball Loses Game Two To Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Winthrop baseball program lost their second straight contest to Liberty Saturday afternoon, falling to the Flames 8-1.
 
The Eagles are 2-4 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Joey Tepper got the game off to a great start for the Eagles in the top of the first inning as he hit a solo home run for a 1-0 lead
  • Liberty matched Winthrop with a homer of their own in the bottom of the second
  • The Flames tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth
  • Liberty scored once in the sixth and once in the seventh for a five-run lead
  • The Flames put the game away with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to provide the final margin
