Eagles Draw With Buccaneers Wednesday Evening

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop and Charleston Southern finished with a 0-0 draw in the final regular season game for both teams, Wednesday night in Big South Conference women's soccer action.

Game Recap
  • Eagles best chance of the first half came in the 26th minute off a corner kick
  • After the corner was long at the back post, Bryn Radvanski received a pass back toward the top of the 18 and she struck a ball first time to the left corner but Sara Curtis was there for the save.
  • The Buccaneers pushed for a goal late in the first half and had a couple of good chances
  • The first came in the 42nd minute when Sam Carlson's shot inside the box hit the right post and went over the line for a goal kick
  • The second game with seconds remaining as Gracen Beilstein received a pass back just outside the 18 as she curled a shot toward the right corner but wide
  • The most dangerous chance for the Bucs in the second half came in the 69th minute when the ball found its way to Bri Robinson at the far post as she settled the ball and fired a shot toward the top left corner from an angle as Izzy Giarrizzi made the save to keep the game scoreless
  • In the 78th minute, Dee Burnett ran onto a through ball and just beat Curtis to the ball and took a touch past and fired a shot to the lower left corner that hit the post and went out of bounds for a goal kick
  • In the 84th minute Jenea Knight's shot from the top of the 18 slipped through traffic but Giarrizzi was down quick to make the save
  • In the 90th minute, Erika Brown was the ball, dribbled her way into the box and then fired a shot to the lower right corner at the near post that was just tipped wide by Curtis

Notables
  • Giarrizzi made six saves as she posted her 4th shutout of the season
  • Charleston Southern finished with a 24-8 advantage in shots and 7-3 in shots on goal
