- About 12 minutes into the match Longwood had period of 4-5 minutes trying to test Izzy Giarrizzi in goal but were unable to hit the frame until the 18th minute when Madison Lockamy hit the frame but Giarrizzi was there for the save
- In the 36th minute Laurin Uptegrove had a good look around the edge of the 18 but her shot was right at Jordan Horacek in goal for the save
- In the 61st minute Giarrizzi made a save to the bottom right corner off a shot from Kiersten Yuhas
- Winthrop's best chance came in the 68th minute off a corner kick as the service was a little long and the ball was sent back across the mouth of the goal as D'Essence Burnett was open about 3 yards out from goal and put a left foot on the ball but Horacek dove and made the save to keep the game scoreless
- In the 79th minute Anna Kate Highsmith got a head on a cross but headed it straight into the ground and it just bounced over the crossbar
- In the 108th minute Yuhas hit a shot on frame from a tough angle that Giarrizzi just tipped over the bar
- Longwood had a 20-8 advantage in shots and 8-2 in shots on goal while the Eagles had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks

- Giarrizzi tied a career-high eight saves to record her second consecutive shutout

Eagles are on the road for a midweek contest as they travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. on Wednesday, Sept. 22 to take on Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m. The Eagles next home contest will be Saturday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. when they take on USC Upstate.
