Game Recap
- Campbell took a number of shots but it wasn't until the 44th minute there was a true threat on frame
- Off a free kick by Cazzi Norgren that somehow found its way through traffic headed toward the lower right corner as Ashlynn Harris was able to dive to her left and tip the shot away keep the game scoreless at the break
- In the 50th minute the Camels had another good opportunity as Elyssa Nowowieski broke free toward goal but after she crossed into the box Sadie Guest slid in between her and Harris to deflect a shot right off the foot of Nowowieski
- Winthrop's first good scoring chance came in the 64th minute when Lauryn Jennings corner found the head of Megan Loveland but the header from about 10 yards out bounced into the keeper's hands
- Minutes later Loveland tested the goalkeeper as her shot had to be tipped over the bar
- Campbell earned a corner in the 105th minute and Nowowieski got on the other end of it and redirected it into the net for the golden goal
Looking Ahead
Eagles return home for their regular season finale on Thursday, Apr. 8 when they take on Radford at 6 p.m.
