Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop volleyball will take a trip to High Point, N.C. to take on the Panthers on Thursday and Friday, Mar. 11-12. Game times are set for 1 p.m and 2 p.m. each day.

SERIES HISTORY
WINTHROP EAGLES
The Eagles are coming off a split series against Campbell, where they handed the Camels their first loss of the young season.
In the win,
Morgan Bossler and
Nikkia Benitez each recorded 11 kills, while Benitez led the team with 19 digs.
Senior
Jessica Young made her first collegiate start in victory over Campbell, posting 12 kills and nine digs.
Two freshman,
Olivia Blackketter and
Isabel Schaefbauer, also made their mark with a team-high eight blocks and 22 assists respectively.
Winthrop currently leads the conference in digs, averaging 17.65 per set.
GARDNER-WEBB RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb travels to Rock Hill with a 2-6 record. The Runnin' Bulldogs were mostly recently swept in three sets in back-to-back matches against UNC Asheville.
Junior Kylee Garrison leads the team with 77 kills and 15 services aces. Newcomer Tori Weatherley has made a big impact, with a team-high 215 assists on the season. Weatherley's 6.94 assists average is good enough for third best in the conference.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were selected to finish ninth in the Big South preseason poll.
BIG SOUTH SEASON & TOURNAMENT
The 2021 spring season will be a 16-match double round-robin slate spanning nine weeks from Feb. 3-April 2, with contests scheduled for consecutive days against the same opponent at the same location. This year's regular-season champion will earn the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
