Volleyball Set To Host Undefeated Campell Camels, Feb. 27-28

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop volleyball is back in action for the first time in 15 days, when they welcome the Campbell Camels to the Winthrop Coliseum on Feb. 27-28. The matches are set to begin a 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
The Eagles and Camels have met 30 times in history, most recently in the 2019 Big South Championship game. Winthrop won the championship in three sets. The Eagles currently have a 20-10 all-time series lead.

WINTHROP EAGLES
The Eagles are coming off back-to-back three-set sweeps over USC Upstate.
 
Leah Metzger had an impressive series, recording 37 digs, averaging 6.2 per set. She earned Big South Conference Libero of the Week.
 
Morgan Bossler was also a key contributor, tallying 15 kills, six blocks and two aces in two conference sweeps.
 
CAMPBELL CAMELS
The Camels come to Rock Hill undefeated through their first two series.
 
They have shut down USC Upstate and UNC Asheville without dropping a single set.
 
Campbell's Chloe Cook was named Freshman of the Week for the second straight week after compiling a season-high 13 kills on .346 hitting in Game 1 against the Bulldogs, finishing the weekend with 21 total.
 
The Camels were selected to finish third in the Big South preseason poll.

BIG SOUTH SEASON & TOURNAMENT
The 2021 spring season will be a 16-match double round-robin slate spanning nine weeks from Feb. 3-April 2, with contests scheduled for consecutive days against the same opponent at the same location. This year's regular-season champion will earn the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
