SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CAMPBELL
Winthrop and Campbell meet for the 27
th time as the Camels own a 20-6 lead in the all-time series. In 2019 the Eagles struck early for a 1-0 lead in the 16
th minute as
Andreas Jackson headed a free kick into the top corner off a
Jordan Walshaw service. Campbell scored three goals in the final 35 minutes for a 3-1 win. Winthrop has won four of the last seven meetings, including a 1-0 win in 2018 on their last trip to Buies Creek.
A GLANCE AT WINTHROP
Winthrop opened the season with a 4-2 loss at South Carolina on Feb. 14. The Eagles scored 12 seconds into the match against South Carolina but allowed four straight goals before netting their second late in the game. Freshman
Grayson Woodard scored his first collegiate goal and was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week.
Jonathan Foster was the one who scored early into the game as he found the net for the 4
th time in his career. Winthrop played 19 players in the opener, including all three keepers.
BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
The Eagles were voted 7
th in the 2020-21 Big South Conference preseason poll. Campbell is the preseason favorite receiving five first-place votes while High Point is second, just six votes behind. Gardner-Webb was voted third followed by Presbyterian College, USC Upstate, Winthrop, Radford and UNC Asheville.

Following their contest at Campbell, the Eagles stay on the road as they'll travel to Asheville, N.C. to take on UNC Asheville on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.
