Rock Hill, S.C.— It's almost been a full year since the Winthrop women's golf team was in action as it will head to Florida to open the 2021 season at the Amelia Island Collegiate.

Format: 54-Hole Tournament (Monday – 36 holes / Tuesday – 18 holes)
Tee Times: Monday – 8 a.m. shotgun / Tuesday – 8:30 a.m. shotgun
Tournament Field: Charleston Southern, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Presbyterian College, Seminole State, South Dakota, Winthrop, Wofford

A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
- This is the 8th Annual Amelia Island Collegiate and the Eagles have participated every year
- The team's best finish at the event came in the inaugural tournament in 2014 as the Eagles finished 5th
- All of the players that competed in 2020 are back for the 2021 season
- Sarah Funderburg averaged a team-low 76.82 average while Whitney Carter was next at 78.41 and Sabrina Fonda at 79.14
- Carter was the top finisher for the Eagles at the 2020 Amelia Island Collegiate as she finished T35 (+9)
- During the second round, Carter aced the Par 3 6th hole and in the final round shot 1-under
- Freshman Valentine Savioz has qualified for her first collegiate event
- The Eagles got two events completed in the spring before the season shutdown for the COVID-19 pandemic
- The format for the event will have the Eagles playing in a twosome and a threesome within their own team
