ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Winthrop University athletic department announced Wednesday afternoon that
Drew Emory has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Emory comes to Rock Hill from Southern Wesleyan, where he spent nearly two and a half years as the director of compliance services.
"I'm excited to be joining the team in Rock Hill," Emory said. "Winthrop has a great administrative and coaching staff in place, and I'm looking forward to getting in and contributing to the continued success of the department."
During his time at Southern Wesleyan, Emory was responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA legislation, developing and revising university policy in order to maintain institutional control, developing monitoring processes for the department, and coordinating rules education program for coaches, university staff, and various other parties.
Â
Prior to his time at SWU, he spent one year at Charlotte, where he served as an athletic compliance assistant. He assisted with the creation and implementation of educational programs and materials for the department, monitored practice logs, recruiting activities, and eligibility, and provided support for other programs throughout the department.
Â
Emory graduated from Campbell with a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2017 and added a master's degree in the same discipline from Wingate in 2019.
