Women's Tennis Falls On The Road At Asheville Friday Afternoon

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Winthrop women's tennis dropped a close match to Asheville on Friday afternoon, 4-3. The Eagles are now 2-7 on the 2020 season.

  • This was Winthrop's first lost to the Bulldogs in program history.
  • Winthrop took a 1-0 lead off No. 1 and No. 2 doubles victories by the duos of Van Eck/Ferreira da Silva and Soloveva/Santos
  • The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind a fifth consecutive No. 1 singles win for Alisa Soloveva
  • Angela Georgieva was up 5-3 at No. 6 singles when Asheville secured the fourth point to win the match.
