League of Legends Returns to Action Saturday Afternoon

Rock Hill, S.C. – After a BYE week, Winthrop's League of Legends team faces off with Texas Tech Saturday, February 8^th at 4:00 PM.

The Eagles have gotten off to a great start to their spring 2020 season with an undefeated record in all competitions. In their last match, Winthrop defeated Arizona State to advance to the semi-finals of ASU GSV. So far this season, the Eagles have already defeated previously #3 Harrisburg, #20 Grand View, Abilene Christian and the aforementioned Arizona State.

Winthrop also garnered national recognition when they jumped from #18 to #6 in the ESPN College League of Legends Coaches Poll. The ranking marks the highest ranking in program history.
