Game Notes Winthrop

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Eagles and Highlanders met, Winthrop was narrowly defeated, 54-53. Kem Nwabudu led the offensive efforts with 20 points, while Jah'Che Whitfield contributed 16 of her own. A high-scoring third quarter erased a nine point deficit for the Eagles and made it a one point game with 10 minutes to play. As time expired, Whitfield missed a 3-pointer that would've given the Eagles the win. Sydney Nunley recorded an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double in the win, with Khiana Johnson recording 15 points for Radford.

WINTHROP
The Eagles enter Saturday's matchup coming off a 63-60 win at Longwood on Tuesday, earning their 11th win of the season, the most under head coach Lynette Woodard. The offensive efforts were led by freshman Myra Strickland, who notched a career-high 17 points and tied the game at 60 all with 55 seconds on the clock. The Whitfield sisters, Destinee and Jah'Che each put up 13 points, while Kem Nwabudu recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Lancers' 3-point attempt with three second remaining was no good to secure the win for the Eagles.

RADFORD
The Highlanders are coming off a 78-57 win over USC Upstate on Tuesday night. Radford was led by sophomores Amele Ngwafang and Makaila Wilson who recorded a career-high 23 points each. Ngwafang also notched 11 rebounds for the sixth double-double of her career. Wilson set a career high in points, rebounds (6), 3-pointers made (7), and field-goals made (8). Sydney Nunley also finished in double figures with 16 points of her own. The Highlanders held the Spartans to just 15 first-half points. Khiana Johnson is Radord's leading scorer, 17th in the conference, averaging 11.5 points per game. Nunley and Ngwafang also crack the Top 30. The Highlanders are 12-5 in conference play and currently sit in third place.
