Lacrosse Travels To Liberty For First Road Test Of 2020

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop lacrosse looks for its first win of the season Wednesday evening as they travel to Lynchburg, V.A. to take on the Liberty Flames.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
The Eagles are coming off an 11-7 loss to Cal on Sunday afternoon.

Mia Creighton led the squad with four goals, while Lauren Asher notched three points off two goals and an assist. Asher also picked up five ground balls, winning two draw controls. McKenna Blick recorded her fourth goal of the season in the loss.
 
Creighton and Asher have both recorded 11 goals so far this season, contributing four and two assists respectively. Bianca Tedesco follows with eight points off four goals and four assists. Freshman Kimora Bailey has won 17 draw controls in the first three contests.


SCOUTING LIBERTY
The Flames are currently 1-2 on the season, dropping contests to Oregon and No. 23 Virginia Tech. Liberty most recently hosted Furman, winning the game 16-9.

Anna Keebler leads the Flames with 13 goals in three games. Carly White has noted seven points on five goals and two assists, while Jenna Joyal has recorded seven points of her own, six coming from assists.

Liberty is coming off a 14-5 overall 2019 season, finishing 5-1 in conference play.

Winthrop leads the all-time series against Liberty, 6-3.
