Winthrop Ranked No. 18 in ESPN's League of Legends Preseason Coaches Poll

Rock Hill, S.C. – For the first time in program history, Winthrop's League of Legends team earned a spot in ESPN's College League of Legends coaches poll checking in at 18th.

After an impressive debut campaign in the fall of 2019, the Eagles are expected to continue to makes waves in League of Legends this spring as they continue to develop as a unit.  With the addition of two new impact players in William "Doxa" Lee and Kenji "Srkenji" Kaneko, the sky is the limit for Winthrop in spring 2020.

ESPN's College League of Legends coaches poll takes into account the voting of almost 40 collegiate Esports coaches across North America every week to calculate the top 25 rankings.  As a new program with under a year's worth of experience, earning a spot in the poll is an impressive feat for a program like Winthrop.
