Rock Hill, SC- After over a month off, Winthrop's League of Legends team returns to action Wednesday, January 15^th when they battle University of Texas at Dallas in the first round of ASU GSV 2020 at 9:15 PM.
 
The Eagles enter ASU GSV 2020 as the 16-seed and will look to build off of an impressive debut this fall in which they had several impressive wins. The tournament is double elimination format with Winthrop looking at a possible second round matchup with the number one overall seed.
 
Heading into Wednesday's matchup with UT Dallas, it will be the first opportunity for Winthrop fans to get a look at two new additions to the squad in William "Doxa" Lee and Kenji "Srkenji" Kaneko.  
 
Lee joins the Eagles from Toronto, Canada after splitting time over the last year playing for Chosen Raganarok, Roman Esports, Emissary Esports and Bahamut Esports.
 
Kaneko also adds a wealth of experience to the team after spending 2019 with AZIO Esports and ANEW Esports.  The California native also took part in 2018's Scouting Grounds which is the equivalent of the NFL Combine for North American Esports.
