SERIES/HISTORY v. PRESBYTERIAN
Winthrop leads the all-time series against Presbyterian 22-10. Since PC joined the Big South in 2007, these teams have met 23 times, Winthrop winning 14 of those matchups. The Eagles and Blue Hose met three times during the 2018-19 season, twice during the regular season and once in the Big South Conference tournament. Winthrop won both regular season meetings, the first at home, 55-52, and the second on the road, 62-54. When the teams met in Rock Hill for the first round of the Big South tournament, the Blue Hose advanced to the quarterfinals, beating the Eagles 64-52.

The Eagles picked up their first conference road win at USC Upstate on Thursday night, beating the Spartans 52-38.

Jah'Che Whitfield (11) and
Kem Nwabudu (11) all finished in double figures. Nwabudu also contributed a game-high nine rebounds. Winthrop improves to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Destinee Jamison-Whitfield and
Jah'Che Whitfield are Winthrop's leading scorers, averaging 11.2 and 10.5 points per game. They are ranked 14
th and 17
th in the conference respectively.
PRESBYTERIAN
Presbyterian enters Saturday's contest against the Eagles on a four game losing skid, most recently falling to Hampton at home 71-42. Alessia Capley scored a career-high 15 points in Monday's loss to the Pirates. Trinity Johnson also reached double figures, scoring 13 points and five rebounds. The Blue Hose are currently 4-9 overall, 0-4 in BSC play. They are 1-6 in road games this season. Presbyterian is led by second year coach Alaura Sharp. Sharp led the Blue Hose to the Big South quarterfinals in her first season where they loss to the eventual champions, Radford.
DOUBLEHEADER SPECIAL
Women's basketball against Presbyterian will be the first of two games hosted at the Coliseum on Saturday. All fans who attend the women's game will receive a complimentary ticket to the men's game at 7 p.m. against Gardner-Webb. Bring in a canned food item to either game and help us fill the Pathways Community Center pantry as part of Winthrop University's MLK Day of Service Project and receive a discounted ticket.
500-REBOUND CLUB HAS A NEW MEMBER
Anika Riley eclipsed 500 career rebounds during Winthrop's game against Gardner-Webb on Monday, Jan. 6. Entering the contest, Riley only needed three rebounds to hit the milestone. She finished the game with 10 points and six boards. The junior guard is the 18th player in Winthrop women's basketball history to record 500+ career rebounds. The school record is currently held by Shaquilla Nunn who recorded 910 rebounds from 2012-15.
