HISTORY VERSUS COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
This will be the 5
th meeting all-time and the second straight season the Eagles and Cougars face each other. The Cougars won last year's meeting in Rock Hill, 2-1, on a goal in the 75
th minute by Talia Colchico. The Eagles are 0-4 all-time in the series.
A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
Eagles are coming off a 3-2 loss to Wofford on Saturday, a contest they nearly tied in the 84
th minute. A ball sent into the box found
Allie Thomas at the back post and she ripped a shot on goal from outside the six, but a Wofford player threw her body in the way a the goal line and deflected the shot over the line for a corner. In the opener the Eagles had 14 shots, but were unable to find the back of the net. Against Wofford the Eagles had 17 shots, finishing with two goals. The opportunities are there and the Eagles hope the trend continues and start putting more of them away.
WHAT'S AHEAD
Winthrop will now have seven days off after the rescheduled contest and will hit the road for the first time this year when they travel to Orangeburg, SC to take on South Carolina State on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
