ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop lacrosse team will hit the road for the first time in three weeks Saturday as the Eagles travel to Nashville, TN to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at 1 p.m.

WINTHROP AT A GLANCE
Winthrop dropped a matinee to the Vermont Catamounts Thursday morning, 15-10. The Eagles hit a wall offensively midway through the second half and Vermont used Winthrop's slump to go on a 6-0 run that led to the victory. Sophomore
Lauren Morris continued her strong offensive play, scoring four goals and adding two assists.
McKenna Blick also netted four goals. Morris leads the team with 20 goals and 27 points as she has also added seven assists.
SCOUTING VANDERBILT
Vanderbilt, who plays lacrosse in the Big East Conference, enters Saturday's contest with a 6-1 overall record after opening the season 5-0. The Commodores are coming off a 19-7 victory over New Hampshire Wednesday afternoon. Vanderbilt has had a balanced offensive attack this season, being led by Sophie Furlong with 15 goals, followed closely by Emily Mathewson with 14 goals. Three different goalies have seen time this season with Lily Argyle playing the majority of minutes, allowing nine goals per game while making 47 percent of her saves.
ALL-TIME AGAINST VANDERBILT
Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the Eagles and Commodores on the lacrosse field.

Winthrop will return to action on Thursday with an in-state road contest against the Wofford Terriers. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. in Spartanburg, SC.
