A Look at USC Upstate
In their first meeting of the season, the Eagles defeated the Spartans in four sets at USC Upstate (23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-12). The Spartans (3-7, 4-16) struggled early in the season, losing eight of their first nine matches. Upstate hit another midseason skid, dropping four straight conference matches. Last weekend they broke their losing streak with a four-set upset over Charleston Southern.

Middle blocker, Emily Russell, unseated Makayla Doyle for the top spot in the conference for hitting percentage. Russell also sits at number three for kills per set at 3.20 and helped lead the Spartans over Charleston Southern with 17 kills.

A Look at UNC Asheville
Earlier this season, the Eagles swept the Bulldogs on the road in three straight sets (25-16, 25-15, 26-24). The Bulldogs (5-5, 11-10) have had an up and down season, but currently ride a two-match win streak with their wins over Charleston Southern and Presbyterian last weekend.

Right-side, Julia Borges, has continued to be dominate for the Bulldogs, leading with 3.56 points per set and 2.90 kills per set.

Catching Up with The Eagles
Last weekend the Eagles completed their final road matches of the season, topping Hampton (17-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-15) and Campbell (27-25, 25-15, 26-28, 21-25, 15-13). The five-set thriller against Campbell was their first five match in conference play.

The Eagles saw output from several Eagles last weekend; Jace Kleffner led in kills against Hampton with 12 and Savannah Roper tied her season high digs with 13. Against Campbell, freshman DS Leah Metzger, recorded a career high 22 digs and Camila Gomez led the team with 13 kills.
