• Winthrop and Pfeiffer first met Nov. 24, 1984, almost exactly 35 years ago to the day
• Eagles won the game 58-49 at the Winthrop Coliseum

• Last year the team's met in Rock Hill and Winthrop set a program record for points in a game with a 134-99 victory

• D.J. Burns Jr. leads the team in scoring through six games at 11.5 ppg
• Burns Jr. has come off the bench in each of the six contests as he's shooting 59 percent from the floor, which ranks second among players in the Big South
• Josh Ferguson is second on the team at 11.3 ppg and is 8^th in the conference in rebounding (6.3)
• Eagles are allowing just 62.3 ppg and have held five of its six opponents to 61 or fewer points
• Rebounding has been a strength for the Eagles, holding a +5.0 rebounding margin and having pulled down 50 or more rebounds in a game twice this season
• Chandler Vaudrin and Russell Jones Jr. are both among the conference leaders in assists per game

• Craig Sabb is averaging 13.0 ppg and Sean Scott is scoring 11.7 per contest
• Sabb is the only one of the trio that played in last year's meeting as he had 15 points, 2 assists and two steals against the Eagles
• David is coming off 27 points against Bridgewater while Josiah Avington had 20
• Averaging 9.8 steals per game led by Sabb averaging 2.8

 
HALE HUNTING FOR 1,000 CAREER POINTS
Hunter Hale is approaching 1,000 points in his collegiate career that began that began at Central Michigan. Hale transferred to the Eagles from Grand Valley State to begin graduate school and arrived with 926 points in his career. This season Hale is averaging 8.0 ppg as he's played in four of the team's six games (missed two for injury). He is now 42 points away from 1,000 in his career.

Joins us on Mondays at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and airs live on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
