ROCK HILL, SC— The season came to an end Sunday evening for Winthrop men's soccer as it fell 2-1 in double overtime to fifth-seeded Presbyterian College.

Game Recap
- Eagles took an early goal on a nice build up that saw Miles Rapp bury a cross about eight yards straight out from goal in the 7th minute
- Jayden Mace played a ball down the wing for Jordan Walshaw into space
- Walshaw collected the ball, beat the defender at the end line and whipped a ball on the ground to Rapp in front, who placed the ball into the left corner for his first collegiate goal
- The Blue Hose didn't take long to draw level as Riccardo Turcis found the back of the net in the 13th minute
- Harry Abell served a ball into the box that popped up in front of goal and Turcis was right in front of goal as he headed the ball by Chandler Gaunce
- The second half saw a lot more action as the Blue Hose tested Gaunce in the early going
- Gaunce made five saves in the second half with four of them coming in the first seven minutes and 45 seconds
- In the 77th minute the Eagles had a good opportunity as Marc Carreras served a ball into the box
- The service went to the back post as Rapp ran free as he tried a diving header but the ball just dipped in front of him and his effort was pushed just wide of the post
- The golden goal came in the 103rd minute off a corner from the Blue Hose
- Hunter Del Valle headed the service from the corner off the crossbar and Gaunce tried to locate the rebound but Wilson was right there and headed the ball quickly into the back of the net
Notables
- This was the second straight overtime game for the Eagles and the 5th in the last six contests
- The last four overtime games went to double overtime and five of the six overtime games this season went double OT
- The Eagles finished the season 3-1-3 over the final seven games of the season
- Walshaw finishes the season with 10 assists, the first Winthrop player with 10 or more assists in a single-season since Michael Luk had 10 in 2009
- Walshaw leads the Big South in assists and assists per game
