ROCK HILL, SC— The regular season comes to a close Saturday afternoon when Winthrop women's soccer hosts USC Upstate (2-10-3, 0-8-1 Big South) at 1 p.m.
Saturday afternoon for Senior Day at Eagle Field as the team's eight seniors will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.
The Eagles are coming off a 2-0 win over UNC Asheville on Wednesday and enter the game with a 7-6-1 mark overall and 5-3-1 in the Big South. It was the team's third shutout in the last five games. Winthrop ranks third in the league in scoring at 1.71 goals per game while Upstate is 9
th at 0.93 per game. Winthrop is 5
th defensively with a goals against average of 1.41 while Upstate is allowing 2.08 (ranked 8
th in the league).
USC Upstate is mired in an eight game losing streak, including nine straight winless matches overall. The Spartans have a couple of extra days rest as they last played on Saturday, Oct. 19 as they fell 3-2 at home against Gardner-Webb. The last win for USC Upstate was a 2-1 win over
Wofford on September 18. The Spartans topped the Eagles 4-2 in last year's matchup, snapping a four game winning streak for Winthrop in the series.

2019 Senior Class
Clara Conboy (Alpharetta, GA) – Clara has played in 55 games in her career with 28 starts and has tallied four goals. She scored her first collegiate goal as a freshman in her fourth collegiate game in a 2-0 win over South Carolina State. This season she's started all 14 games she's played in and has a career-high three goals. Clara will graduate with a degree in business administration with a focus on marketing.
Greta Conboy (Alpharetta, GA) – Greta has played 59 games in her career with 32 starts. As a freshman she scored three goals off the bench in 14 games. Her first collegiate goal came on Sept. 3, 2016 against Georgia Southern. Greta is set to graduate with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.
Gabi Hull (Fredricksburg, VA) – Gabi has played in 60 games in her career with 56 starts. Hull has 11 goals and one assist in her career (23 points). Her 11 career goals rank tied for 10
th all-time in program history and her 23 points are just on the outside of the Top 10 all-time. Gabi scored her first collegiate goal as a sophomore in a 2-0 win over Alabama A&M. Gabi will graduate with a degree in sport management.
Keeley Leising (Kent, OH) -- Leising began her career as a forward and has made the transition to defender this season. She currently ranks 7
th in the nation with 10 assists and 8
th in assists per game. Her 10 assists lead the Big South Conference as she became the program's second player all-time with 10 or more assists in a single-season. Keeley has played in 57 career games with 33 career starts. Her 29 career points rank 9
th all-time in program history and her 11 assists are tied for 5
th all-time. She is a two-time Big South Freshman of the Week selection and earned Defensive Player of the Week this season. On Sept. 17, Leising was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week. Leising will graduate with a degree in exercise science.
Dylan Patterson (Peachtree City, GA) – Dylan is a four-year starter as a defender who has played in 65 games in her career with 63 career starts. In 2018, Patterson was named to the Big South Second Team and earned Big South All-Tournament Team honors. Dylan scored her first and only career goal was a golden goal as a freshman when she netted the game-winner in a 2-1 double-overtime victory at Presbyterian College. In addition to soccer, Dylan has committed a lot of her time and efforts as part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Patterson will graduate with a degree in sport management.
Natalie Royaards (Greenville, SC,) – Royaards battled injuries her first two seasons but has played in 47 games with 40 starts. She has 12 career goals and 29 career points rank 9
th in program history for goals and is 10
th in points. Her first collegiate goal came on Oct. 15, 2016 against Gardner-Webb. In 2017, Royaards was named to the Big South Conference All-Tournament Team. Royaards will graduate with a degree in exercise science.
Allie Thomas (Canonsburg, PA) – Thomas is a two-time All-Big South selection that has played in 61 games with 37 career starts. She has 17 career goals and 31 career points as she ranks 4
th all-time in goals and 9
th in points in program history. Thomas has five career game-winning goals, which ranks 5
th all-time at Winthrop. She's also a two-time Big South Attacking Player of the Week. Thomas will graduate with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.
