ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop women's soccer returns to the pitch this week to finish the regular season with two matches at Eagle Field starting with UNC Asheville on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.
The Eagles enter Wednesday's match with an overall record of 6-6-1 and a Big South mark of 4-3-1. Winthrop currently sits in fifth place in the Big South, and look to jump into the top four by season's end to clinch a home game in the first round of the Big South Tournament.
UNC Asheville comes off a 2-1 loss to Longwood in double overtime at the Greenwood Soccer Field in Asheville, NC, marking the third straight loss for the Bulldogs. UNC Asheville is looking for its first win since October 9, a 1-0 win at Hampton. The Bulldogs won last season's match against Winthrop 2-1, with
Clara Conboy scoring the Eagles' goal.
