ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team looks to get back into the win column Saturday afternoon as the Eagles host the Presbyterian Blue Hose in a conference matchup at the Winthrop Coliseum.

WINTHROP AT A GLANCE
A tough second quarter plagued the Eagles Tuesday against Hampton. In the other three quarters, the two sides were dead even but the Pirates used a 23-2 second quarter to snap Winthrop's two-game winning streak. Despite the setback, the Eagles continued to get positive play from freshman
Kem Nwabudu who tallied 15 points.
Essence Cowan also added 15 points while
Miquela Santoro scored 11.
SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
Presbyterian comes to the Coliseum Saturday with a 4-13 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the Big South, having lost two straight. The Blue Hose last picked up a victory on January 12 over USC Upstate. A trio of players have averaged double figures for the Blue Hose this season, led by Kacie Hall with 14.3 points per game. Shamani Stafford and Salina Virola have averaged 10.5 and 10.1 points respectively. Virola also leads the team with 7.9 rebounds per game.
ALL-TIME AGAINST PRESBYTERIAN
Saturday will be the 30
th all-time meeting between the Eagles and Blue Hose. Winthrop leads the series 20-9 but Presbyterian won both matchups last season. Winthrop's last victory over the Blue Hose came February 28, 2015.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
After Saturday's home contest, the Eagles will start a three-game road swing starting with a Tuesday contest at High Point at 7 p.m.
