Rock Hill, SC – For the third week of preseason play, the Eagles are headed to Greensboro, NC to play three matches at the Spartan-Aggie Invitational tournament hosted by UNC Greensboro and NC A&T. The weekend schedule will feature UNCG at 6 p.m. on Friday at Fleming Gym and North Carolina A&T and Delaware State on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 pm., respectively. The Saturday games will be held on NC A&T campus in the Moore Gymnasium.

Last weekend, at the Rocky Top Invitational in Knoxville, the Eagles dropped two matches to Tennessee and Indiana State but came up with a five-set win against North Florida.
Siani Yamaguchi was named to the All-Tournament Team and
Carlie Skelton recorded a new career high, 31 digs. Â Yamaguchi is still leading the Big South in total assists and Skelton broke into the top five for digs per set at number four and she is third in overall season digs.
Like the Eagles, UNCG has played a tough preseason schedule dropping three set matches to Duke, Maryland, Michigan State, and UNC. Their current record is 3-4 and the were picked to finish fifth in the Southern Conference (SoCon) preseason polls. They are being led by outside hitter, Holly Behrends who is fourth in the SoCon for kills per set.
North Carolina A&T is co-hosting the tournaments and will play on their home court for the first time this season. They have a record 3-0 start to their season but have lost their last three matches in three sets. Sophomore setter, Edie Brewer, was chosen for preseason all-conference honors and the Aggies were picked to finish third in Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference (MEAC). Â
Delaware State has gone 0-8 after three weekends of play and have lost every game in three sets. The Hornets only returned five players from last season and feature seven freshman on their roster. They compete in the MEAC Northern Division and were picked to finish fifth out of sixth teams in their preseason polls.
