The Eagles started the season 2-0 with wins over Gardner Webb and High Point but took their first conference loss against Radford.

Charleston Southern (1-1, 6-4) just snapped a 0-3 losing streak by beating Hampton in four sets (26-24, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-20) for their first conference win. They are led by Madison Malloch (Fr. OH) who has 3.18 kills per set and an efficiency of .225. The CSU libero, Madison Martini, is averaging 4.97 digs per set, second best in the Big South. The Eagles swept CSU in both of last year's regular season match ups and are leading the all-time series 69-17.
