Rock Hill, SC – After five consecutive weeks on the road the Eagles are finally home for a three-match week. First up will be the Radford Highlanders (2-0, 10-1) on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles (2-0, 6-8) are coming off their first two conference wins last week over Gardner Webb and High Point University.

Last Saturday the Eagles traveled to High Point University for a dominate three set victory over the Big South preseason favorites (25-13, 25-19, 25-2).
Jace Kleffner and
Sydney Gunter led the Eagles with 10 kills apiece. Gunter only committed one attacking error in the match and finished with an efficiency of .474. Freshman, MB,
Lily Leistiko added 8 kills (.500) and 3 block assists. The freshman's blocking was key in slowing down the High Point offense, holding them to just a .164 attacking efficiency.
Siani Yamaguchi continues to lead the Winthrop offense, dishing out 30 assists and 5 kills (.714).
Radford is also coming off a 2-0 conference start and has had a successful preseason, losing just one match to Northwestern State. They began conference with two road wins over UNC Asheville (25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 25-15) and Big South new comers, USC Upstate (25-14, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22). They are led by Mallory McKnight (Jr., MB.) who has maintained 2.95 kills per set. Â
The Eagles are trailing the all-time series against Radford who leads it 34-30. This is also the first time since 2014 the Eagles have begun 2-0 in Big South play.
