HOW IT HAPPENED
Winthrop got on the scoreboard in the 11

The Eagles continued to pound the ball at the Pirate goal, firing off 10 shots but were unable to find another tally and took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Winthrop continued pressing offensively in the second half with multiple chances going just wide or over the target. The Eagles' persistence paid off in the 84
th minute.
Lauryn Jennings drove towards the penalty area and played a through ball to
Laurin Uptegrove. Uptegrove cut the ball towards the inside and nailed a shot that sailed over the goalie and under the crossbar to put Winthrop up 2-0.
Hampton created some tension in the final five minutes as it found the back of the net in the 85
th. Isobel Finnegan took a free kick from 22 yards out that Winthrop goalie
Kelly Horan punched but the ball went off the crossbar and straight to the feet of Sydney Allen who easily put the ball in the net.
Less than a minute later Winthrop put the game away.
Keeley Leising dribbled the ball through the attacking third towards the end line and took an odd-angle shot that snuck underneath the goalkeeper to give Winthrop a 3-1 lead.
