SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Winthrop picked up a victory in its conference opener last Friday, downing Presbyterian 2-0 on the road. It was Winthrop's first victory in its conference opener since 2013.
Allie Thomas scored both of the Eagles' goals and earned the Big South Attacking Player of the Week honor.
Arryana Daniels earned the conference's Defensive Player of the Week honor after anchoring the defense that allowed the Blue Hose only one shot on goal.
SCOUTING HAMPTON
The Pirates are in their first season of Big South play and are 1-3-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the conference after earning a draw against High Point Wednesday. In its fourth season of Division I competition, Hampton picked up its first-ever Division I victory earlier this season over St. Peters.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Eagles and Pirates.

Winthrop will remain at home for its next Big South tilt. The Eagles will host the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
