ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop lacrosse team opens Big South play Saturday afternoon, hosting the Longwood Lancers at 2 p.m., looking to extend its six-game winning streak. Saturday will also be Senior Day for the program's 10 seniors.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
The Eagles have had nearly a week to prepare for their conference opener. After starting the year 1-3, Winthrop has rattled off six straight victories. Over the winning streak, the Eagles have been outscoring opponents by nearly six goals per game.
Winthrop's student-athletes continue to be ranked highly amongst other Division I competition.
Nicole Beatson currently leads the NCAA in goals per game and is in the top 10 of goals, points and points per game.
Kristen Shriver ranks in the top five in assists and assists per game.
SCOUTING LONGWOOD
Longwood enters conference play with an even 5-5 overall record. The Lancers have won their last two contests and four of their last five overall. The two teams only had one common non-conference opponent with each squad defeating East Carolina.
The Lancers have three player with 20 or more goals this season. Kaitlin Luccarelli and Madison Stair each have 21 goals while Riley Dolan has 20. Dolan leads the team in points with 49 as she has added a NCAA-leading 29 assists. Imani West has played all but 28 minutes between the pipes this season, allowing 13.5 goals per game and making 47 percent of her saves.
ALL-TIME AGAINST LONGWOOD
Saturday will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Eagles and Lancers. Longwood took the first two meetings from Winthrop but the Eagles have won the last three including a 21-7 victory on the road last season.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will remain at home for its next Big South matchup. The Eagles will host the Presbyterian Blue Hose Wednesday at 4 p.m.
