Women's Basketball Hosts Charleston Southern Tuesday at 7 p.m. for Senior Day

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team will host its final game of the year Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. against Charleston Southern.  Prior to the game, the Eagles will hold a Senior Day ceremony for Ronata Rogers

LAST TIME AGAINST CSU
Winthrop and Charleston Southern met earlier this season in North Charleston on January 16.  Courtney Hagaman scored a team-high 16 points against the Bucs and Kayla Atkins pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
 
The Eagles shot 28 percent from the field but managed to connect on only one of 14 three-point attempts.  Charleston Southern shot 48 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range while scoring 25 points off 20 Winthrop turnovers.
 
SCOUTING CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Charleston Southern is in the midst of a five-game losing skid in the Big South after winning three in a row.  The Buccaneers are 10-17 overall and 5-11 in conference this season.
 
The Buccaneers have been led this year by five juniors who are all averaging eight points or more per game.  Njeri Nelms leads the team with 9.9 points per game while Wekenye Dumorne leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per contest.  The Bucs have scored 63.1 points per game this season while allowing 62.2.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Tuesday will be the 82nd all-time meeting between the Eagles and Bucs.  Winthrop leads the all-time series 47-34 but Charleston Southern has won the last five meetings.  The Eagles' last victory came at home on January 31, 2015.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop closes out the regular season on the road Saturday at Longwood.  The Eagles and Lancers tip off at 12 p.m.
