EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Anika Riley earned her second consecutive Big South Freshman of the Week award Monday after she averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last week.
Winthrop is coming off two close losses to Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb last week and are hitting a tough stretch as it will host Radford and Liberty in the next 10 days who sit at the top of the Big South standings.
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
High Point started the conference season 6-0 but has lost four of its last six Big South contests. The Panthers are currently 14-9 overall and 8-4 in the conference.
The Panthers have four players currently averaging more than nine points per contest. Emma Bockrath leads the team, scoring 13.3 points per game while Kat Harris has added 12.3 points. Camryn Brown and Shea Morgan have scored 9.8 and 9.2 points per game respectively. Bockrath also leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 6.7 boards per game.
High Point is averaging 67.5 points per game this season while connecting on 41 percent of its shots from the floor including 36 percent from three-point range which is leads the Big South.
ALL-TIME AGAINST HIGH POINT
Saturday will mark the 50
th all-time meeting between the Eagles and Panthers. High Point leads the series 29-20 and has won six-straight against Winthrop. The last Eagle victory came February 10, 2015 at home as Winthrop came out on top 91-74.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will return home for its next Big South matchup. The Eagles will welcome Radford to the Winthrop Coliseum Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest.
