Women's Basketball Travels to Georgia Southern Tuesday For Final Road Contest of 2018

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team hits the road for the final time in 2018 as the Eagles travel to Georgia Southern for a 5 p.m. Tuesday evening.

WINTHROP AT A GLANCE
Winthrop has reached its first three-game winning streak since January of 2015 after a thrilling 58-57 victory over Elon on December 9.  The Eagles built a big first-half lead behind 16 first-quarter points from Courtney Hagaman.  Hagaman finished with a season-high 23 on the afternoon.

SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHERN
The Georgia Southern Eagles also come into Tuesday's contest with a 4-5 record and have won their last two matchups.  Last week Georgia Southern picked up a road victory over Presbyterian and downed Coastal Georgia at home on Friday.  Alexis Brown leads Georgia Southern offensively, averaging 19.7 points per game.  Tatum Barber also has amassed a double-digit average this year, scoring 10 points per game.  Sarah Moore leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game while also adding 6.1 points per game.

ALL-TIME AGAINST GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Winthrop and Georgia Southern will meet for the fifth time Tuesday.  Winthrop is winless in four previous meetings with Georgia Southern.  The last time these two teams met was December 5, 2000 in Statesboro.

Winthrop closes out its non-conference and 2018 slate of games with an afternoon home game with the Western Carolina Catamounts Friday at 2 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum.

The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season.
