Rock Hill, SC – This weekend the Eagles (7-3, 11-11) are hosting UNC Asheville and USC Upstate this Friday and Saturday. Last time these teams matched up the Eagles came out on top in four sets against both opponents. Against UNCA, the Eagles earned their first win in the Justice Center since the 2015 season.

Against USC Upstate, Lou Rosario had a season team high 23 kills (.419) and Siani Yamaguchi and Carlie Skelton received weekly conference honors based on their performances. Yamaguchi dished out 66 assists and dug 20 balls in just four sets against USC Upstate. The next day, against UNCA, she had another 41 assists and Skelton had 30 digs (7.5 per set). Yamaguchi is currently leading the conference in assists with 830 total and 10.25 per set.

UNC Asheville (3-6, 6-11) won two home matches last weekend with a sweep of Charleston Southern and a five-set win over Presbyterian College. They are led offensively by Cara Guthrie who is third in the Big South for kills per set with 3.27. Julia Borges has 2.34 kills per set and a hitting efficiency of .205. Libero, Madisen Zyburt, leads the team defensively with 4.88 digs per set, she was named Defender of the Week by the Big South Conference office this week.

USC Upstate (5-5, 10-15) is on a three match win streak after beating Presbyterian (3-2), Charleston Southern (3-1), and a non-conference match against Division II Limestone (3-0). Middle blocker, Gloria Ikenegbu, was named Big South Player of the Week this week after garnering 30 kills, .387 hitting percentage, and 12 blocks on the weekend.

Friday's match will feature a "Killing Cancer" theme where fans are encouraged to wear pink. Saturday there will be "Wintober Trunk or Treat" at the Eagle field after the volleyball match and before the men's soccer match. Any fans wearing a costume will get free admission to the volleyball match.
