- Eagles had a good chance early in the match when Jogvan Jacobsen hit the post in the 8th minute
- After the Cougars forced Aidan McCormick into three saves from the 7th to the 13th minute the Eagles forced Treston Kederer into his first save of the game on an Andres Carvajal header
- Victor Oladipo put the Cougars on top in the 26th minute when he received a pass in the box from Steven Cahill and struck it first time into the bottom right corner
- College of Charleston continued the pressure offensively and made it 2-0 in the 31st minute
- Curren Page received a pass from Marcelo Malpartida and his shot around the 18 found the back of the net
- Cougars led 2-0 at the half while outshooting the Eagles 13-5 (nine shots on goal)
- The Eagles fell behind 3-0 in the 73rd minute when Tucker Heffron scored around the six-yard box off a pass from Oladipo

- Aidan McCormick finished with a career-high nine saves as he surpassed his career-best of six in the first half with seven saves
- Sophomore center back Jordi Mola had to leave the game just 2:34 in after a hard foul that led to a yellow card for Cahill
