SERIES HISTORY VERSUS CAMPBELL
Campbell and Winthrop meet for the 25th time as the Camels lead the all-time series 19-6. Winthrop has won three of the last five meetings but dropped the last two.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET
Winthrop fell 2-1 in Rock Hill the last time these two teams squared off. Campbell scored an early goal (8th minute) as J.J. Donnelly scored inside the 18 off a pass from Ian Rees. The Eagles equalized in the 20th minute when Max Hasenstab was set up by Nil Vinyals inside the box as his shot found the right corner. Donnelly struck again in the 26th minute as he ran onto a pass over the top of the defense by Humberto Chavez and flicked it by the goalkeeper for his 8th of the season at that point. Campbell had a 15-11 edge with both teams even in shots on goal (6).

A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
Winthrop is coming off a 4-1 loss to Gardner-Webb in a game that got away in the end. The Eagles, trailing 2-1 at the half came out in the second half putting a lot of pressure on the Runnin' Bulldogs offensively. The Eagles nearly drew even in the 69th minute when Andres Carvajal had a clean look in the box as his shot curled toward the right corner just outside the post. Gardner-Webb earned a corner kick three minutes later and scored on a clean header in front for a 3-1 lead. The Eagles had a 12-10 advantage in shots and 7-5 edge in shots on goal. The Eagles need at least two wins in their final three league games to put themselves in position for a conference tournament bid (Top 6 play in the tournament). Winthrop is currently tied for 7th place.

A GLANCE AT THE CAMELS
Campbell is coming off a non-conference contest this past week with a 2-0 loss at #17 Duke. The Camels are entering a stretch of five conference games out of their last six games of the regular season. Campbell leads the league in scoring at 2.18 goals per game and is second in goals against average. J.J. Donnelly leads the team in scoring and is 5th in the conference at 1.09 points per game. In the last four games the Camels are 0-3-1 with two of the games going into overtime. This will be just the second home game for Campbell since Sept. 12.

10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF 2008 BIG SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP
This season the Eagles celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2008 Big South Conference Championship team. That team survived some of the most dramatic games in program history on its way to a 15-6-1 record overall as it fell 3-1 at William & Mary in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles captured a 3-2 win at Coastal Carolina on Nov. 5 in foggy conditions as Matt Lacey's laser from 35 yards on a counter found the upper left corner of the goal with 4:16 left in regulation. The Eagles rallied in that game from a 2-1 deficit early in the second half to clinch the regular season title. In the conference tournament (Held at Coastal) the Eagles advanced to the title game in penalties against Liberty. The title game saw the Eagles steal their third title in program history against Coastal. The Chanticleers grabbed a 3-2 lead on a penalty kick in the 87th minute as the Eagles scored with just 21 seconds on the clock to force overtime and then in the 101st minute Daniel Revivo buried a service to the back post for the golden goal victory.

BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Winthrop was picked sixth in the Big South preseason poll as High Point was voted as the favorite with 7-of-9 first-place votes. High Point was followed by Radford, Campbell, Presbyterian College and Gardner-Webb. Tied for 7th was UNC Asheville and Longwood while USC Upstate was voted 9th. The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Big South Conference Tournament.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Winthrop steps away from Big South action as it will travel to Cary, NC to take on top-ranked North Carolina at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7 p.m.
