ROCK HILL, SC – With Wednesday's match postponed, the Winthrop women's soccer team kicks off a stretch of three games in five days Saturday afternoon when the Eagles host the High Point Panthers at 1 p.m.
Saturday will be Senior Day for the Eagles as
Kelly Horan,
Brianna Palmer and
JoJo Taylor will be recognized prior to the contest.
Following Saturday's matchup, the Eagles will travel to UNC Asheville on Monday to make up Wednesday's postponement and then host Charleston Southern Wednesday, October 17 at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Winthrop took a tough overtime loss last Saturday at home to the Radford Highlanders. After rolling through regulation tied at 1-1, Radford netted the game-winner in the first overtime period. Winthrop's goal came off the head of
Allie Thomas who headed home a free kick from
Arryana Daniels.
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
High Point has had an up-and-down season and currently sits at 5-7-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the Big South. The Panthers are coming off a 2-0 loss at Charleston Southern Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers have earned only one victory on the road this season. Skylar Prillaman leads the team with 15 points on six goals and three assists.
SCOUTING UNC ASHEVILLE
The Bulldogs have struggled in 2018, earning only one victory in 11 matches. UNC Asheville downed the Citadel September 2 but have gone 0-3-3 over the last six matches. The Bulldogs fell 3-0 to High Point last Saturday and have been outscored 9-3 in conference play this year. Asheville will host Hampton Saturday before welcoming the Eagles Monday. The game time for Monday is still to be determined.
SCOUTING CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Charleston Southern currently sits only one point ahead of the Eagles in the Big South standings with a 3-3-1 conference mark and a 6-4-2 overall record. The Buccaneers are coming off a 2-0 victory over High Point Wednesday afternoon. The Bucs have a bye weekend from conference play but will travel to SC State on Sunday before coming to Rock Hill on Wednesday.

Following this tough stretch for the Eagles, they will hit the road for their final conference match of the season. Winthrop will take on Longwood next Saturday, October 20 at 2 p.m.
