Women's Basketball Hits The Road to Face Liberty Tuesday at 7 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop women's basketball team heads back out on the road Tuesday evening as the Eagles travel to Lynchburg, VA to take on the Liberty Flames at 7 p.m.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
The Eagles have gotten back-to-back strong performances from junior Courtney Hagaman.  Hagaman scored 25 points on the road at Radford Tuesday and 15 at home against Campbell Saturday.  The Eagles shot well in their loss to Campbell Saturday, hitting 33 percent of their shots from the floor.
 
Winthrop struggled with turnovers during non-conference play but have been able to limit their unforced errors through the first two conference contests.  The Eagles turned the ball over only nine times against Campbell Saturday.
 
SCOUTING LIBERTY
Liberty has had an up-and-down season so far and sits at 7-7 overall and 2-0 in the conference.  The Flames are undefeated a home this season, winning all four contests at the Vines Center.  Liberty has defeated Presbyterian and Charleston Southern so far this Big South season.
 
The Flames are led by Keyen Green and KK Barbour who have averaged 10.8 and 10.3 points per game respectively this season.  They both also lead the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.6 and 5.5 rebounds per game respectively.  Liberty has averaged better than 65 points per game this season, shooting 42 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST LIBERTY
Tuesday will be the 62nd all-time meeting between the Eagles and Flames with Liberty leading the all-time series 51-10.  Liberty swept both contests from the Eagles last season.  Winthrop's last win against the Flames came at home on January 20, 2015 with the Eagles winning 63-58.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop continues its back-and-forth home/away schedule this Saturday when the Eagles return to the Winthrop Coliseum to host the High Point Panthers at 2 p.m.
 
WINTHROP SPORTS SHOW AT ROCO
Every Thursday at The Roasting Company throughout the basketball season will be the Winthrop Sports Show at ROCO hosted by the voices of the Winthrop Eagles Dave Friedman and Mike Pacheco. The two will sit down weekly with head coaches Pat Kelsey and Lynette Woodard as well as other selected guests throughout the season. The show is from 6-6:30 p.m. and also airs on 94.3 FM & 104.1 The Bridge.
